Restaurants in the Waveney Valley
Looking for pubs in the Waveney Valley? Whether you are looking for a drink or fine food, for pub restaurants in the Harleston area, there is one choice that makes perfect sense. Our restaurant specialises in steaks and exotic meals that look great and taste fantastic, and our drinks selection is beyond reproach. So, the answer seems self-evident: The Black Swan, Homersfield, is the place for you.
Our Services
When looking for restaurants in Harleston, do not discount the simmering splendour of your local traditional country pub. Based in the picturesque village of Homersfield in the Waveney Valley, and replete with a fantastic selection of real ales from local breweries including Adnams, Woodfordes, Wolfe Brewery and the award-winning Grain Brewery, we have proven highly popular with locals and holiday makers alike. With a fine selection of cherry picked wines from around the world, all of our drinks, alcoholic or not, provide a perfect accompaniment to the refined rural atmosphere.
In fine weather please come and enjoy our beer garden. Why not indulge in a Sunday roast this weekend, and while you're working up that appetite why not have a few rounds on our "Olympic standard" pool table. We have food served every day and night, so you can always rely on a good meal, vegetarian or carnivore.
On that theme, our own little steak house is renowned throughout the local area, and further afield, for our penchant for specialising in steaks and exotic meats including the beautifully tender ostrich, crocodile, impala and kangaroo meats. All of our beef steaks are sourced from a heroically forward-thinking local farmer, Gary Kent (situated a mere 4 miles away). We also serve freshly ground coffee, for those of a more sober disposition.
Pub in Harleston: About Us
An understandably popular pub in Harleston, we serve hearty, traditional food which looks good and tastes delicious. The pub has a perfect setting due to its position next to the beautiful river Waveney and the serene ambience which the village secretes.
Family run, by three generations of the Eaves family, we are ideally located for holiday makers, tourists, cyclists and walkers. A stone's throw from the Adair bridge, which dates all the way back to 1870, is the first concrete and cast iron bridge of its type constructed in the country, and a beautiful example of British engineering heritage.
The Black Swan is family friendly and dog friendly. We are also situated ideally for the local caravan site (that is, of course, Caravan Club Registered) with toilets, running water and electricity.
Opening Hours:
Monday to Saturday: 12.00pm - 2.30pm and 6.00pm - 11.00pm
Sunday: 12.00noon - 3.30pm and 7.00pm -10.30pm
Get in Touch
With our beautiful dining room and fantastic setting, the owners of The Black Swan all share the same hands-on approach to running the pub, and as such we are one of the few remaining bastions of character in the public house industry anywhere in the UK. We are more than happy to answer any queries that you may have so please feel free to call or email any time (tony-eaves@hotmail.co.uk) for more details on what is arguably the best of all pubs in the Waveney Valley.
